Friday’s Serie A clash between Napoli and Juventus is not only a key game in the title race, but an Old Lady’s victory may persuade the new directors to invest in new signings in January, reports Tuttosport.

The Stadio Maradona clash on Friday will be the last match of the Andrea Agnelli era given that Juventus’ new board of directors, chaired by Gianluca Ferrero, will take place next week, precisely on January 18.

The Bianconeri are not planning big investments in the January transfer window, also considering their loss of over €230m for 2021-22.

The new board of directors consists of technical figures who will navigate the financial chaos Juventus find themselves in and deal with the potential criminal and sporting trials involving the club for alleged financial irregularities.

Nevertheless, a victory in Naples on Friday may persuade the new directors to make some investments in January to strengthen the team for the second part of the campaign.

Juventus are looking for a new right-back, a centre-back and a central midfielder but would still need at least one sale to finance a potential signing and according to the report, the club will listen to offers for Weston McKennie in the winter transfer window.

Massimiliano Allegri said last week that he is happy with the current team and that new signings are useless unless they raise the quality of the squad.

Juventus are level on points with Milan in second place, seven points behind table leaders Napoli.
