José Mourinho is not on Roma‘s bench for the last Serie A game of the season against Spezia due to suspension.

The Special One received his fifth yellow card in the stoppages of last week’s away game at Fiorentina and was therefore suspended for one league match. His assistant Salvatore Foti will replace him in the dugout at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

This is the fourth Serie A match Mourinho has missed this season due to a one-match ban.

Following Wednesday’s Europa League Final against Sevilla in Budapest, the Portuguese coach said his disciplinary record in Serie A makes him look “like a criminal.”

Mourinho’s future at the Stadio Olimpico remains uncertain despite a contract expiring in June 2024.

The former Inter and Chelsea tactician expects reinforcements for 2023-24 and a new director who can help him with the team’s daily management.

Roma seek a Europa League placement in the last game of the season. They are currently one point above seventh-placed Juventus.
