Milan have opened talks with Armando Broja’s entourage and it’s no surprise that they’re interested in the talented Chelsea forward.

The Blues have reportedly set a €35m asking price on the 21-year-old Albanian striker, an affordable fee for a Rossoneri side still looking for a long-term centre forward. Injuries this season have seen Milan rely heavily on veteran forward Olivier Giroud and it’s clear that the club need to resolve the situation in the coming transfer windows if they want to maintain their growth.

Broja spent last season on loan with Southampton, where he netted nine goals across 38 appearances, and recently penned a new six-year deal with Chelsea after returning in the summer. He’s struggled for consistent minutes in West London this campaign, playing only 165 minutes of Premier League action across eight games.

The Albanian forward would seemingly be a perfect fit for Stefano Pioli’s Milan squad, being a talented and hardworking youngster. Broja is physically imposing, standing at 1.91m tall, has good finishing and is happy to play an important role in the build-up. He is also very strong in the air, quick with the ball at his feet and willing to track back for defensive work.

Milan could lose both Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer when their contracts expire, which would leave them with just Divock Origi and Marko Lazetic up front. Pioli has proven his ability to develop and trust in young players and Broja fits this mould perfectly, making him an incredibly attractive option for the Rossoneri.
