According to La Gazzetta dell Sport, Inter held an ’emergency’ meeting at the Suning Centre yesterday following their third defeat in the last four games.

Players, staff members and directors reportedly gathered in the dressing room the day after Inter’s 2-0 loss over Bayern Munich, their third defeat in the last four games. Only Romelu Lukaku didn’t attend the meeting as he is still in Belgium for treatment.

According to the report, club directors spoke for a long time, but also the team leaders, especially Samir Handanovic and Nicolò Barella, had a word with the rest of the group demanding a different attitude, starting from training.

Some players reportedly said they are still not in shape, but data shown by Inzaghi’s staff proved that Inter ran more than Milan and Bayern in their last two games, which means they must ‘run better’ and cover the pitch a wiser way.

Inzaghi urged his players to be more focused during games and avoid blatant gestures on the pitch to blame their teammates after an error. The coach insisted that ‘nothing is lost’ and that the Nerazzurri have time to recover lost ground.

The meeting was described as ‘constructive’ by sources who attended it. Beppe Marotta spoke to Sky Sport Italia yesterday, saying that Inter need some ‘healthy realism.’

The Nerazzurri meet Torino at home tomorrow before Tuesday’s second Champions League Group C game away at Viktoria Plzen.

  1. When this, “avoid blatant gestures on the pitch to blame their teammates after an error.”, is seen, the face appears to my mind FIRST is that of Barella’s. Brozovic did that a lot too often in the past as well.
