Nicolo Barella opened the scoring in today’s clash between Udinese and Inter with a direct free kick, the Nerazzurri’s first in over a year.
Simone Inzaghi’s side have experienced a slightly inconsistent start to their campaign, picking up wins over Cremonese and Spezia but suffering losses to Milan and Lazio. Their Champions League campaign has started equally shaky – a 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich and a 2-0 win over Viktoria Plzen.
As highlighted by OptaPaolo, Barella’s free kick strike against Udinese today was Inter’s first goal from a direct free kick in 371 days, with the last coming from Federico Dimarco in a 2-2 draw with Sampdoria back in September 2021.
brilliant, GK was slow reacting, but still stunning indeed
