Napoli sent a message of support to former captain Lorenzo Insigne after the terrible news that his wife Jenny suffered a miscarriage.
The 31-year-old Italian forward and his family are currently living in Toronto after his free transfer to the MLS side in the summer. He has kicked off his adventure well with Toronto FC, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 10 MLS appearances, but now he’ll have to remain strong after receiving the awful news that his wife Jenny suffered a miscarriage in her sixth month of pregnancy.
Napoli sent a message of support to their former captain earlier today, saying: “Dear Jenny, dear Lorenzo, the whole Napoli family is close to you and embraces you tightly.”
Prior to his move to Toronto FC, Insigne spent the entirety of his career associated with Napoli, coming up through the club’s youth system and becoming a mainstay in the first team. He made 434 appearances across all competitions for the Partenopei, scoring 122 goals and providing 95 assists.
