Kyle Walker is a major doubt to feature for Manchester City in the Champions League Final against Inter after Pep Guardiola confirms the right-back is ‘not good’ with a back injury.

The showdown is at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

Today was the media day at the Manchester City training ground and the journalists who filled the area were surprised to see Walker missing from the session on the field.

When coach Guardiola started his press conference, the situation was explained.

“He had a disturbance in his back. Yesterday he was not good. Today he was a little bit better. We didn’t want to take a risk and we will see in the next days.”

Walker would’ve been the first choice to start at right-back against Inter, having for a period lost the role to Manuel Akanji in March and April.

The England international started eight of Manchester City’s last nine Premier League games, plus the Champions League semi-finals with Real Madrid and the FA Cup Final victory over Manchester United.

Inter also have their own injury doubt with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Joaquin Correa, who are not yet in full training with the rest of the squad.

While Milan Skriniar is available again after back surgery, he is unlikely to be risked from the start.

Edin Dzeko remains the favourite to lead the attack with Lautaro Martinez, bringing Romelu Lukaku off the bench.
