It’s going to be a sea of blue in the stands of the Champions League Final, as while Manchester City have the colour of the sky, Inter fans are urged to wear a darker shade, despite potential superstition.

It kicks off at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

While the Premier League giants may well be favourites on the field, Inter are determined to make their mark in the stands of the stadium.

Curva Nord ultras released a statement urging all those who have tickets to the game to arrive wearing something in dark blue, representing the Nerazzurri stripes of the club.

This goes against what many of the supporters might’ve been planning, which was to wear the same white jersey Inter had on when beating Bayern Munich in the 2010 Champions League Final.

“We know that we are asking a lot, but for once let us annul chromatic differences and abandon superstitious jerseys,” read the ultras statement.

“We all ask a small sacrifice to show the team we are one united entity, so they can be more than ever one unit on the field. We ask everyone who attends to wear something dark blue.”

It should give an intriguing effect, considering Manchester City’s club colour is sky blue.
