Fiorentina star striker Dusan Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus, which may suggest Paulo Dybala is on his way out of the club.

La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper reports Vlahovic’s agent and Juventus have shaken hands on a €7m-a-year deal with the player open to joining the Old Lady in January.

However, Fiorentina only want a cash offer in the region of €70m and won’t accept a player-plus-cash swap deal.

At the same time, Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene revealed earlier in January that the Old Lady can’t afford big-money moves in the current transfer window. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus’ transfer budget for the next two transfer windows is exactly €70m.

Talks between the two clubs haven’t even begun, but according to multiple reports, Juventus are pushing to sign Vlahovic now or at the end of the season. But how can the Bianconeri afford both Vlahovic and Dybala?

Juventus to cut pay of players with expiring contracts, including Dybala

One of Arrivabene’s targets is to reduce the wage bill, meaning Dybala and other Juventus players will be offered to take a pay cut to stay in Turin.

Aaron Ramsey, one of Juventus’ highest earners, is set to leave in January, but saving on his €7m-a-year salary won’t be enough to balance the books.

Dybala has a similar wage but had reached an agreement over a new €10m-a-year deal which the Bianconeri can no longer afford.

It must also be mentioned that the Serie A giants have yet to make Federico Chiesa and Moise Kean’s moves permanent.

The Old Lady paid €10m for Chiesa’s loan in 2020 and need to add a further €50, including add-ons to sign him permanently.

Kean is on loan from Everton for €7m. Juventus have an obligation to make the player’s move permanent for €28m during the next campaign plus up to €3m in bonuses.

Juventus and Dybala will resume talks in February, but the striker’s stay appears less and less likely, especially if the Bianconeri complete Vlahovic’s signing.

10 thought on “Vlahovic to Juventus means Dybala will leave?”
  1. Not giving Dybala a new contract a let a top striker leave for free is utter madness.
Especially if you keep the likes of Bernadeschi, Ramsey, Kulesevski, Rabiot, Arthur, Bentancur, Kean and Morata.
Juventus have six quality players they must keep: Bonucci, De Ligt, Cuadradro, Lotatelli, Chiesa and Dybala.
    Juventus next summer:
    442
    Winther, De Ligt, Bonucci, Sandro
    Chiesa, Frenjie de Jong, Cuadradro
    Dybala, Vlahovic

  2. 442
    Winther, De Ligt, Bonucci, Sandro
Chiesa, Frenkie de Jong, Locatelli, Cuadradro
    Dybala, Vlahovic

  3. @Mikkel De Winter is a 19 year old center back with 81 minutes of first team football. You would put him at right back without any experience? Good move.
How the hell do you think Juve can sign Frenkie de Jong? he’s worth at least 100 mil and plays for the club he supported as a boy. Also Bernardeschi’s contract i8s about to expire…

You’re like most fans, demanding 10 players to be sold, and then what? If you sell ten players you need to buy 10 new players. Or you going to play with only primavera guys on the bench?

  4. @Mikkel: ALEX SANDRO is the first player they have to get rid of this summer – his best days are behind him !!!!

  5. @Mikke – Nobody is queing to to buy the players you have listed. In the past three years, how many clubs have enquired about Bentancur? Ramsey will probably have to be be wheeled out of the club? Kuluservski has got as much personality as a coat hanger on the pitch. Rabiot is lazy and at best useless!! Kean is…well…the less said the better. Morata has lost his confidence and probably unhappy at Juve. Only Arthur may be worth a shot until end of teh season…

  6. @Mikkel

Bernardeschi is on a Bosman soon, so they can’t sell him unless they do so in the next week. Dybala is very talented, but too hot and cold to be splashing huge money on.
But they should be able to get more than 15m each for Rabiot and Bentancur. Epl sides are dumb enough to pay 25, perhaps.
Sandro is past his best, Sczcesny too. Ramsey has been a disaster.

  7. Give Dybala-Vlahovic a few weeks together as a partnership. If they are great, maybe there is a case for keeping Dybala. He certainly scores a few goals for Juve over the years, even if he was poor in the 2017 CL final
