According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dusan Vlahovic has already agreed personal terms with Juventus, but Fiorentina will only sell their star striker for at least €70m.

Arsenal and Juventus are believed to be in pole position to secure the striker’s services in January.

The 21-year-old seems unwilling to join the Gunners and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he is determined to sign for Juventus in the winter transfer window.

The pink paper reported last week that Juventus had offered €35m plus Dejan Kulusevski, but Fiorentina didn’t confirm the offer and according to the latest report, they are only open to selling Vlahovic for a cash offer.

Their asking price is in the region of €70m, which is precisely the Juventus transfer budget for the next two transfer windows. Should Juventus sign Vlahovic for that fee, they would be unable to get other players in the summer unless they sell somebody.

According to the report, Vlahovic has agreed a €7m-a-year deal with the Old Lady and is keen to move to Turin, either in January or at the end of the season.

Vlahovic and Riccardo Saponara were not part of the Fiorentina squad that faced Cagliari yesterday. The Tuscans had announced two new COVID cases in their team, before their trip to Sardinia.

10 thought on “Vlahovic to snub Arsenal for Juventus as Bianconeri push for January deal”
  1. Juventus can and SHOULD sell players. Kulusevski, Bentancur, Rabiot, Ramsey, Alex Sandro, Arthur , Kao Jorge, Bernardeschi. Not sure how much those under-performers will bring in, but they can be replaced by the young players like De Winter, Ake, Fagioli, Rovella, Soule and so on, and I think all the youth players would do a better job.

  2. Vlahovic is a great addition but no midfield, neglecting the midfield once again and £60M is not worth it.
That money is better spent on the midfield and the Milan game was yet another predictable insight into what the issues have been for many years. Morata and Kean are not 20 goal a game strikers but give them some service and they might be more productive. Vlahovic being served by Rabiot and Bentancur is not going to solve any issues.

  3. I think he will wait until the summer to see if Juve will qualify for CL. On the other hand, I feel for Fiorentina and their fans. What is with all their young stars betraying them for their rival Juventus?

  4. @Chris Bentancur had a good game yesterday, better than any of the other midfielders. Better as the deepest mid. Kulu carried the team last year under Pirlo and is worth sticking with. Bernadeschi’s contract is up so can’t really sell him.

The problem is McKennie. He’s being trusted as the attacking mid but offers nothing. Decent at winning the ball back but loses it too often.

  5. When some teams need a striker they call on John Carew ! When Juve needs a striker they have the agents of DUSAN VLAHOVIC call them! A life long Juve fan – I LOVE IT !!

and the logic to a January transfer is this:

If you were Vlahovic which of the 2 would you choose:

A – Making 3 mill the rest of the season
    or
B-Making 400k for the rest of the season

I think the answer is pretty obvious don’t you think ?!

  6. @Milan Fan. Fiorentina is nowhere near a CL spot, let alone being a title contender. They can’t afford to pay huge salaries either. Would you waste your career in such a team when there are better offer around if you were a young star? And Juventus is probably the obvious choice apart from Milan and Inter when the players want to stay in Italy. In this case Juventus was actually the only Italian side willing to sign him anyway.

  7. @Vinh

I was referring to the fact that all of them (Bernardeschi, Chiesa, now Vlahovic) leave Fiorentina for Juventus when they know that’s the thing that hurts the most for Viola fans, despite having other (usually better) offers on the table.

But yeah, for Vlahovic it makes sense to stay in Italy and I’ll be glad if he did.

  8. Uncle Z is right. Without proper creative midfielder, Vlahovic’s impact will be limited. Especially if jube have to sacrifice almost all of their transfer budget. It’s like CR7 deal all over again. As a fan of rival team, I’m glad that Juve’s director do not share the same perspective from reasonable fans like Uncle Z, instead they seem to think like this guy I miss marco branca, who is clearly delusional.
