Massimiliano Allegri will likely have to do without Dusan Vlahovic when Juventus travel to San Siro to face Inter in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg on Wednesday evening after the Serbian reported a fresh injury complaint during training earlier in the week.

Vlahovic has picked up an ankle sprain, which will likely keep him out of action for the midweek cup tie, as Allegri confirmed during his pre-match press conference.

Vlahovic’s situation will continue to be monitored in the coming days as Juventus face a congested fixture schedule, with six games lined up in less than three weeks across Serie A, the Coppa Italia and Europa League.

The 23-year-old has not been without his share of injury setbacks this season, after missing 20 days through an adductor problem at the end of October and an issue with his groin in December, which kept him out of action for a further 50 days.

Vlahovic’s tally for the season currently stands at eight goals from 22 league appearances, with 11 across 35 games in all competitions.

During the back end of the 2021-22 season, Vlahovic had racked up seven goals in just 15 appearances.

In his absence, it is likely that Arkadiusz Milik will be involved in the Derby d’Italia against Inter, who could be supported by Angel Di Maria, who featured from the bench in the 1-0 loss to Napoli on Sunday evening.
