Stefano Sensi has proven himself an important part of Raffaele Palladino’s Monza squad and the club are ready to negotiate a new deal with Inter.

The Italian midfielder started life well with the Nerazzurri when he arrived from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019, scoring three goals and providing four assists in his first six appearances, but a series of injuries derailed his time at the club, forcing him to miss at least 47 games for the club.

Sensi spent six months on loan at Sampdoria last season before returning to Inter, who promptly sent him to Monza on a loan deal that didn’t include a permanence clause.

As detailed by TMW, Monza have been deeply satisfied with Sensi’s work this season and want to keep him in their squad, so they’re preparing to negotiate a new deal for the 27-year-old.

The Italian midfielder’s contract expires with Inter next year and they’d need to sell him for around €6m to avoid registering a capital loss.

One idea would be to renew his contract for one year in order to send him to Monza on a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached.

Roberto Gagliardini could also head to the Biancorossi in the summer after his contract expires with Inter. A number of clubs are interested in him, including Palladino’s side.
