Romelu Lukaku said he will give a message to the Inter fans ‘in a few days’ after boarding the private jet for London and a new experience at Chelsea.
The striker is completing the transfer for €115m cash (£97.5m) and was filmed at the airport in Milan this evening.
Asked if he had a message for the Inter supporters, Lukaku waved to the camera and said: “I’ll send a message in a few days.”
This represents a return to Chelsea for Lukaku, who was already at the club in 2011-12, going on loan to West Bromwich Albion and then sold to Everton.
He made the move to Inter from Manchester United in 2019 for €74m plus €4m in performance-related bonuses and went on to be their top scorer as they won the Serie A title.
