Giorgio Chiellini was given a standing ovation by Juventus fans, teammates and his opponents as he departed the field just 15 minutes into the game with Lazio.
This was his final appearance at the Allianz Juventus Stadium and probably the last in this jersey, as he is not expected to feature against Fiorentina next week.
As he had played 120 minutes in the Coppa Italia Final against Inter on Wednesday, losing 4-2 in Rome, the 37-year-old was only given 15 minutes this evening.
It was the plan from Max Allegri to take the legend off, saluting Juventus after 17 consecutive years at the club, having made his debut against Messina on October 15, 2005.
This was his 560th appearance in the Bianconeri jersey and after leaving the field, he walked all around the perimeter of the pitch, saluting the supporters and gathering their gifts.

Grande Chiellini, Gracie.
Watching him on the pitch during the end of game ceremony, still smiling with an impish grin…he’s an ageless wonder. Thank you for the championships!!!
One of the biggest scum in Italian football. Glad he will be gone. Cheat
@Andy, you are horrible. He is awesome and not a scum. Have you been living these past two decades. Watch highlights of him. And come back later
We will miss you so much Capitano! You are among the best defenders of all time!
