Former Italy striker Gianluca Vialli admits he was ‘moved’ by the fans’ show of support at the weekend for his battle with cancer.
Vialli shocked the football world last week with his revelation that he had successfully fought off the disease, prompting plenty of choreography at Serie A grounds for the ex-Juventus, Sampdoria and Chelsea man.
“It was beautiful and moving to see they still remember me,” he told Sport Mediaset.

“It was beautiful and moving to see they still remember me,” he told Sport Mediaset.
“I find it hard to say, but I think this experience, which I’d gladly do without has made me a better person.
“It’s helped me to see things from another perspective, give more value to things, like my family, and realise that I must take better care of myself.
“It’s something that you must use to become a better person. It happened suddenly and I faced it like when I was a player.
“I immediately set long-term objectives: I didn’t want to die in front of my parents. I want to walk my daughters down the altar when they get married.
“I also have short-term objectives: my surgery, hospital stay, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and going on holiday again in Sardinia with a physique to show off.”
