Roma legend Francesco Totti reveals former Milan President Silvio Berlusconi ‘did anything’ to bring him to San Siro: ‘I will thank him forever.’

The 2006 Italy World Cup winner spent his entire career at the Stadio Olimpico, snubbing several offers, most notably one from Real Madrid.

Berlusconi’s Milan also wanted to sign Totti, as the ex-No.10 told Sky Sport Italia.

“He was a funny person,” he said.

“He did anything to bring me to Milan, but after my journey with Roma, it was difficult for me to part ways with my club.

“I will thank him forever. He will forever be the No.1 for me, on and off the pitch. He had everything to win.”

Berlusconi died in Milan on June 12, 2023. His funeral will be held at Milan’s Dome on Wednesday, June 14.

Totti scored 307 goals in 786 games with Roma, retiring in 2017.
