Tottenham have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Udinese for talented left back Destiny Udogie.

The 19-year-old Italian full back shot to prominence last season after an incredibly impressive debut campaign in Udine. Udogie scored five goals and provided three assists in 35 Serie A appearances, and his work soon caught the attention of Antonio Conte’s Spurs, who have paid particular attention to Italy following the appointment of Fabio Paratici.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham have now agreed a deal with Udinese for Udogie and things will be finalised this week. The 19-year-old will then immediately return to Udine on loan, allowing him to continue his development with consistent minutes in Italy.

The 19-year-old Udogie is one of the most exciting young talents in Serie A and it only seems like a matter of time until he’s given his Italy debut by Roberto Mancini. The teenager has already made four appearances for the Under-21 side.

  1. But I thought Allegri was the second coming of Sacchi. After all he took Juve to not just one but 2 UCL finals. Udogie can be proud that he has represented at least one club in black and white. With Conte there is the chance to shine but worth remembering he does not exactly trust young players himself.

  2. @frankie It’s simple. Juventus has Alex Sandro and Pellegrini on the left, Danilo and Cuadrado on the right and De Sciglio who plays on both sides. The management knows that an upgrade is much needed but unless they sell half of these guys, they can’t bring in new ones. And nobody wants to buy 32 year old former player Sandro with his 5-6M wages and one year left in his contract. Juventus will have to wait until next summer when Sandro and Cuadrado leave to buy new fullbacks.

  3. @THE MASTER, the issue is Juventus renewed De Sciglio and Danilo. You cannot change personnel as mentioned when you think they are good enough to stay.

  4. Another one Juve should have gone for.

Alarm bells should be going off for Serie A sides when Conte is interested in a player, because he usually gets it right.

  5. All the best to you Destiny Udogie – hope you improve and able to come back to a top italian side in the near future
