Italian sports papers blame Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud following Milan‘s 2-2 draw against Bologna, but the Rossoblu star Joshua Zirkzee, a Rossoneri transfer target for the summer, impressed at San Siro.
Milan were held to a 2-2 draw by Bologna on Saturday night seeing Giroud and Theo miss a penalty kick each. Maignan was nutmegged by Zirkzee for the Rossoblu’s opener in the first half, and all three France internationals received ratings below 6 from Italian sports papers on Sunday.
Another French player, Yacine Adli, was not up to the task based on player ratings from Italian sports papers, while the best player for Milan was inevitably Ruben Loftus-Cheek who scored a brace.
On the Bologna side, Zirkzee received high ratings and was the best Rossoblu on the pitch. He was rated 7/10 by Gazzetta and 7.5/0 by Corriere dello Sport. Scotland international Lewis Ferguson was also convincing at San Siro, getting 6.5/10 from Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport but only 5.5/10 from Gazzetta.
Both Zirzkee and Ferguson are said to be on Milan’s radars for next season and the same is true of Bologna coach Thiago Motta who was sent off for dissent after the first penalty kick given to Milan.
