José Mourinho’s Roma have lost the second game in a row in Serie A and collected just four points in the last five matches.

The Giallorossi sit fifth in the Serie A table, three points off fourth-placed Atalanta.

The Special One had a great start to the season, collecting six wins in seven games across all competitions.

Mourinho changes approach and turns attention to VAR and referees

Things have changed since their loss in the derby della Capitale on September 19.

They reacted by winning against Zorya in Conference League and Empoli in Serie A, but they’ve collected only four points since the October break.

Roma faced defeats against Juventus, Milan and Venezia. The game against the Rossoneri was Mourinho’s first defeat at home in Serie A in his career.

The Giallorossi have only won against strugglers Cagliari and picked up a draw with Napoli since October 17.

Mourinho turns on Roma and referees: ‘I have to protect myself’

They also managed just one point in two Conference League games against Bodo/Glimt and lost the away game in Norway 6-1.

Mourinho has also had team management problems. He complained about the squad’s depth multiple times, especially after defeats against Juventus and Bodo/Glimt.

The Giallorossi will visit Andriy Shevchenko’s Genoa after the break.

4 thought on “The numbers behind Mourinho’s crisis at Roma”
  1. He’s not going to last the season. I feel sorry for the club and its fans. The Friedkins made the wrong choice in coach. They wanted a big name and this is what has resulted. Should have gone for someone like De Zerbi, young up and coming yet proven, hungry, and tactically fresh. Now they will have to start over again and have to deal with Mourinho’s expensive severance.

  2. Absolutely agree. Master Tactician an awful coach with terrible personality.
Poor Miki and Smalling were hammered the second time in their carriers…
I am not going to be surprised if there is more interests are involved in
    Mou’s actions.

  3. Here we go again. The English vultures are gathering! You are quick to write about Mourinho and put every blame on him when things are going right. When it is Mourinho, players have absolutely no responsibilities. They are all stars and angels. Where was Roma when they called him? Go check the stats of Sunday’s game and come tell…….. you want the manager to now kick the ball into the post himself?

  4. When they were winning six out seven, you were same guys praising him and his impact on serie A. They were tipping Roma to challenge for the scudetto. Everybody knows that Roma is young inexperienced team and it’s a three yr project. Encourage him to build a team that can make serie A champion league challengers . Stop being toxic
