Alessio Tacchinardi believes Philippe Coutinho would be an idea reinforcement for Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio if he joined from Barcelona.

The Brazilian is available on loan, so long as Lazio pay half his salary for the season, as he is not part of coach Ronald Koeman’s plans.

“He is not the same player we saw all those years ago at Inter, but he has more confidence now and loves to play wide,” former Juventus midfielder Tacchinardi told TMW Radio.

“Coutinho can form a great combination with Luis Alberto down the left channel.”

Lazio are struggling to get to grips with Sarri’s 4-3-3 formation after years of 3-5-2 under Simone Inzaghi.

They already brought in another Brazilian wide player, Felipe Anderson, from West Ham United.

Coutinho is now 29 years old, but last season managed only 14 competitive games in the Barcelona jersey, still contributing three goals and two assists.
