Wojciech Szczesny is excited by the upcoming friendlies with Barcelona and Real Madrid, noting Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria are just what Juventus needed.

The Bianconeri beat Chivas 2-0 in their opening pre-season tour of the United States fixture and will take on Barcelona tonight at 01.30 UK time.

“It might be a friendly, but it’s always special to play against the best in the world like Barcelona and Real Madrid,” Szczesny told JTV.

After noting it was great to finally have a proper pre-season tour after two years of the pandemic, the goalkeeper welcomed the new signings to the squad.

Pogba and Di Maria are both free agents, a return to Turin in the case of the France international, bringing their vast experience to the team.

“It’s quite a young squad overall, so our younger players can only learn from them. They also have incredible quality and will give an important contribution on the pitch.”
