Udinese full-back Nahuel Molina has arrived in Spain to complete his transfer to Atletico Madrid. ‘I am very happy.’

The Argentina international landed at the airport this afternoon and was greeted by fans and media ahead of his medical.

He is set to sign a five-year contract with Diego Simeone’s side.

“I am very happy and am on my way for the medical now,” said Molina.

The 24-year-old was snapped up for free from Boca Juniors reserves in September 2020 and has since gone from strength to strength, becoming an important figure in Argentina’s Copa America winning squad.

The right-back, who can also play on the left, was meant to be sold for €20m plus the ownership of Nehuen Perez, but problems arose regarding personal terms with Udinese.

Instead, the two clubs will work out a different way of bridging the gap, but it won’t delay Molina’s transfer.
