Former Roma teammates Kevin Strootman and Radja Nainggolan are set to be reunited at Cagliari next season, as the Dutchman is having his medical today.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Dutch international Strootman is having his medical with the Sardinian side.

He spent the last six months on loan at Genoa from Olympique Marseille, but is now completing his transfer to Cagliari.

Strootman made 18 Serie A appearances for Genoa, contributing four assists.

It’ll be a reunion with his old Roma companion Nainggolan, who is pushing hard to make the loan spell from Inter a permanent one at the Sardegna Arena.

Strootman turned 31 in February and wore the Roma jersey from 2013 to 2018, before moving to Marseille for €25m.

His contract with the Ligue 1 side runs to June 2023 and this is reported to be a one-year loan, which could be extended for another season.
