“I am going to training now,” Spinazzola told reporters as he landed back at Fiumicino Airport in Rome.

“I feel good, am focused only on Sunday and the game against Genoa. I just want to focus on training now.”

It was meant to be an exchange of loans with obligation to buy at the end of the season.

However, Inter demanded extra medical and fitness tests of Spinazzola, then tried to change the terms of the deal to a loan with option to buy after 15 appearances of at least 45 minutes each.

This irritated Roma, talks broke down, so today the two players returned to their respective bases with no transfer complete.

Politano is also heading back to Milan and is likely even more annoyed at the outcome, seeing as it would’ve been a return to his hometown club, having come up through the Giallorossi youth academy.
