Spezia have agreed terms with goalkeeper Antonio Mirante, who is a free agent after his experience at Roma.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the 38-year-old shot-stopper has accepted a one-year contract at the Stadio Alberto Picco.

Mirante came up through the Juventus academy, going on to play for Crotone, Siena, Sampdoria, Parma, Bologna and Roma.

His contract with the Giallorossi expired in July and he has 368 Serie A appearances under his belt.

Last season, despite initially being second choice, Mirante made 15 competitive appearances for Roma, 13 of them in Serie A.

Spezia had also been looking at former Sampdoria and Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
