New Arsenal signing Jakub Kiwior thanked Spezia after his move to North London, but the Aquilotti also had nice words for their ex-defender: ‘Go and shine in the Premier League.’

The Poland international has joined Arsenal on a permanent €25m deal plus €5m add-ons.

It’s a clever piece of business for the Aquilotti who had acquired the 22-year-old for just €2.2m from Slovakian side MSL Zilina in the summer of 2021.

Arsenal confirmed Kiwior’s purchase on Sunday and Spezia sent a message to their former defender on Twitter after the deal was announced.

Kiwior replied to the same message on his Instagram stories, thanking his former club.

The 22-year-old made his senior debut with Poland last summer and started four games from four at the Qatar World Cup for his national team.

Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Milan had scouted the defender while at the Stadio Picco, but he has now signed a contract until 2028 at the Emirates Stadium.
