Luciano Spalletti has reiterated he has had “no contact with Inter” and wishes to stay at Zenit despite being tipped as Rafa Benitez's successor.

The Italian media continue to maintain there is only a very slim chance Benitez will remain on the Nerazzurri bench even if he does win the Club World Cup this month.

Spalletti is the hot favourite to take over in January or June, but the former Roma boss is adamant that is not the case.

“I am very happy in Russia and will not leave,” Spalletti assured.

Spalletti was asked why he was spotted in Milan on Wednesday and joked about the visit.

“Was I in Milan? There are lots of bald men around, it might not have been me…”
