Luciano Spalletti assures there’s “no chaos” at Roma but defeat at Atalanta showed “we have not lost this vice”.

The Giallorossi were 1-0 up in Bergamo, but collapsed in the second half and ultimately lost 2-1.

“As I’ve said, we’re disappointed and bitter,” Spalletti admitted in his pre-Viktoria Plzen Press conference.

“There’s no chaos though. There was a bad defeat, the team showed that we have not lost this vice.

“We need to work in a serious and profound way to tidy up these difficulties that we sometimes have. Last week there was talk about contracts, but it’s not the time

Right now we have to talk about fixing things that aren’t going well.

“Sometimes we pay a very high price, but within the squad there’s availability and attention to do well for Roma and for the fans.”

That defeat allowed Juventus to go seven points clear at the top of Serie A, does the Europa League become even more important now?

“Every objective is important. Every match is important, above all success is determined by a series of performances. This is one of the games we have to win, and we’ll try to win.

“We’ve dropped three important points in the table, which doesn’t just concern one team but all teams. That’s it though, it’s one game. We’re disappointed, we’ll work on our mistakes and we want to bounce back as soon as possible.

“I’m convinced of doing our best, as I was before. If someone says Juventus are stronger, we can’t believe them.

“We have to try and win every game, to achieve the maximum for as long as the maths doesn’t rule it out. We look forward and we want to improve.

“We lost to a team who, in the second half, had greater aggression but we conceded to a ricochet and an avoidable penalty, as well as hitting the post.

“So the defeat wasn’t clear, we could have taken more, even in the second half.”
