Luciano Spalletti is the latest candidate for the Newcastle United job and it’s reported he could bring Radja Nainggolan with him to St James’ Park.

The Premier League club is in the midst of a takeover by a Saudi-backed consortium, replacing current owner Mike Ashley, and it’s believed the new investors will spend big from the start.

That includes bringing in a top coach, but while Max Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino have been mentioned so far, the latest option is Spalletti.

The former Roma and Inter boss already has overseas experience at Zenit St Petersburg, although he is still under contract with Inter after his dismissal to make way for Antonio Conte last summer.

Calciomercato.it suggest that Spalletti could have an intriguing other reason to make the move, as he’d love a reunion with Nainggolan.

It was because of Spalletti that Nainggolan moved from Roma to Inter, then left for a loan at Cagliari this season.

Spalletti won two Russian League titles, the Russian Cup, Russian Supercup, Italian Supercup and two editions of the Coppa Italia.
