Barcelona are struggling to put together a package deal that Inter will accept for €111m-rated Lautaro Martinez, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The striker has a release clause worth €111m in his contract, but it can only be activated for a few weeks during the summer and must be paid in one instalment.

This is a problem for Barcelona, especially during the financial uncertainty of the post-coronavirus football world.

According to Sky Sport Italia, they are trying to lower the cost of the operation by including players in part-exchange, even if technically they’d be worth more than €111m put together.

However, for various reasons, they haven’t been able to put together a package that Inter are satisfied with.

Some players aren’t appreciated by Inter boss Antonio Conte, others are digging their heels in and don’t want to leave Camp Nou.

Barcelona know they are Lautaro’s first choice if he leaves San Siro, but Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain can compete on a financial level.
