Silva won a Scudetto with Gattuso and Milan under Juventus boss Max Allegri in 2011 before joining PSG a year later, while the defender faced the Napoli midfielder – a reported target for the French giants – in the Champions League earlier in the season.

“I’m rooting for Gattuso because I’ll always be a Milan fan. I’ll support Allegri next time,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It’ll be a good match and I hope Milan win. Higuain has incredible quality and I hope he’s channelled all his goals to beat Juventus and win this trophy, which would be crucial for the team’s confidence.

“Paqueta? He’s a player who has a lot of character and self-belief. Having those things will make it easier for him, even if the Milan shirt is weighty.

“Cristiano Ronaldo? He was just what Juventus were missing. He’s won a lot, but he still wants to win.

“We have to thank Ronaldo for his way of understanding football and how he plays. Champions League Final between Juventus and PSG? Possibly because Juventus feel stronger now and are one of the favourites.

“They have experience and something extra in Ronaldo. We hope to face them in the Final.

“Allan? When I followed him in the Brazilian League, I thought he was a good player but not as good as when I faced him in the Champions League.

“He has character, but he’s also very humble. I’d be very happy if he came here.”
