New Genoa coach Andriy Shevchenko asked for reinforcements and it’s reported they could include Milan’s Samu Castillejo and Dinamo Kiev talent Vitaliy Mykolenko.

The Ukrainian tactician took over at the weekend after Davide Ballardini was sacked and has signed a three-year contract.

In his presentation press conference, Sheva spoke of the need for new players in the January transfer window, especially as Genoa only completed the takeover with new owners 777 Partners after the summer session had already concluded.

According to Calciomercato.com, Shevchenko is looking to his former club for inspiration, as Genoa could swoop in for winger Castillejo.

The Spaniard was already on the market in the summer, but failed to reach an agreement.

Another target is believed to be Dinamo Kiev left-back Mykolenko, who Shevchenko has already worked with as manager of the Ukraine national squad.

The 22-year-old can also play as a centre-back and has 21 senior caps for Ukraine under his belt.

Mykolenko has made 15 competitive appearances for his club so far this season, contributing three assists.
