Milan have reportedly set their sights on Olympique Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara as the replacement for Franck Kessie.

While Kessie is refusing to sign a new contract, it becomes increasingly likely he could leave in January for a minimal fee.

As for Kamara, the France Under-21 international turns 22 later this month and his contract runs to June 2022.

That means he will be a free agent at the end of the season and does not seem to be intent on agreeing an extension.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Kamara is the first choice for Milan to replace Kessie.

His versatility is also impressive, able to play as a defensive midfielder or as a centre-back in the mould of former Milan icon Marcel Desailly.

Kamara has made 14 competitive appearances for Olympique Marseille so far this season, contributing one goal.

Despite not yet being 22, he already has 136 matches under his belt for the Ligue 1 side, in which he scored four goals and assisted five.

8 thought on “Milan look to Marseille’s Kamara as Kessie heir”
  1. use the money to get matteo pessina please.he is super star in making, he would become one in milan Jersey. we have quality Italian players. who is kamara?

  2. Atalanta don’t want to sell Pessina, especially since Milan have a 50% resale clause on Pessina plus Kamara actually plays in Kessie’s position and he would benefit from the tax decree in moving to Italy (thus Milan would benefit)

  3. Another foreigner in a top Italian club. Even more shocking that the Director of Football is a former Captain of the National Team. Disgusting.

  4. Milan hates italians, it’s gross. Either way we don’t need midfielders. We’re all set. We have Bakayoko and next summer we’ll have Adli and Pobega. Don’t waste money. Just get Berardi, a striker, and an AM to trade time with Diaz.

  5. I say YES to Kamara. Since he can play as a centre back also is a plus. When you have good enough midfielders, your team hardly suffers much. Kamara is a free agent at the end of the season so we can agree a pre-contract with him. Get RW berardi or Fairve, Striker Julian Alvarez and belotti, and AM that will support Diaz which i know that Alvarez can suit well there too

  6. I’d love this! As I’ve said elsewhere on here, Kessie can go in Jan for me – we won’t be in Europe so we’ll be fine.

Kamara, Adil, Bellotti, another wide option and a better 2nd choice left back and we’ll be set for years!

    We’re back (kind of)!!!

  7. I get that people want more Italians in Italian teams, but I don’t really know who would be both available and good enough. There are a lot of Italian players who are good for mid table clubs but don’t have that something extra which players for top clubs need (ideally). And those who do are either too expensive or have already been bought by clubs with greater spending power than Milan. I expect the reason we are typically shopping in the French league these days is because you can still get some bargains there.

We’ve been linked with this player before, I really know nothing about him but he sounds interesting, and if Massara and co are considering him then he must be good. Bearing in mind we’ve got Adli coming next year though.
