The 23-year-old joined the French club in the summer from Milan and also reflects on his injury-plagued career so far.

"I’ve never felt lost, even if the latest injury was a real blow,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I could not give up, the two goals I scored at the end of the season were important, as was the national team.

“This is a challenge to recover what I had. It is my revenge. Young players must be given confidence, but throwing them at once into the fray is dangerous, you are likely to burn out.

“Allegri did a good job with me and I think he's doing it with Dybala. I did really badly in the first three games, he put me on the pitch in the fourth and I scored two goals.

“With young people it takes patience, then if they are good they have another 16 years to play.

"Conte’s faith was very important. The Coach holds me in high regard and I'm paying him back with good performances. France was a little bit in my destiny. Now I’m hoping to be a protagonist at the Euros.

"The role is not a problem. Here I’ve also played as a centre-forward, that didn’t even happen when I was a child, I played in midfield and I could do that, too. Versatility is an asset, not a problem.”
