Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw on the Laguna, as Mattia Aramu and Venezia cancelled out the Alvaro Morata opener.

Watch the highlights here.

Serie A Highlights: Venezia 1-1 Juventus

The Bianconeri missed Federico Chiesa, Dejan Kulusevski, Weston McKennie, Danilo and Aaron Ramsey, while Arthur was dropped after turning up late to training. The Lagunari had to do without David Okereke, Antonio Vacca and suspended Pietro Ceccaroni, so gave Marco Modolo his first Serie A start after fumbling a 3-0 lead to lose 4-3 with Verona.

There was immediately bad news for Max Allegri, as Paulo Dybala limped off within 12 minutes with a right knee problem to make way for Kaio Jorge.

The Brazilian nearly scored moments later, Matthijs de Ligt knocking down a corner for Kaio Jorge to flick over from point-blank range.

Juan Cuadrado and Thomas Henry fired just off target, while Alvaro Morata’s angled drive tested Sergio Romero.

The deadlock was finally broken when Luca Pellegrini whipped a low cross from the left and Morata flicked it in off the outside of the boot at the near post from five yards.

Juan Cuadrado should’ve passed it to Kaio Jorge or Morata when sprinting forward on the counter from the centre-circle, but instead went for goal himself and flashed it wide.

Venezia were more attacking after the break, Gianluca Busio shooting straight at Wojciech Szczesny, and Mattia Aramu equalised with a perfectly-struck left-foot curler from the D that bent around the goalkeeper’s fingertips into the far bottom corner.

It felt as if Juve had switched off, Henry drilling wide, then Sergio Romero flew to palm a Bernardeschi rocket out from under the crossbar.

Morata had penalty appeals waved away for a clumsy Ebuehi challenge, while Allegri replaced substitute Kaio Jorge as part of a triple change.

Aramu tried to surprise Szczesny from midfield, while Mathias Soule had two weak efforts in stoppages, but Juve were again utterly toothless upfront.

  2. @I MISS MARCO BRANCA AT JUVENTUS, please explain yourself. Why is “James Allegri Bond” leader of the pub team of Europe not able to defeat another Serie b team?

I watch Juventus for comedy. Always enjoyable seeing a team that cannot pass, run, cross, shoot, dribble and find the goal when required.

Crotone, Benevento, Empoli now even Venezia. Connect the dots all Serie b level clubs just like you once were.

How can a Super League team struggle so badly. James Bond is a genius. When needing the win, send on the imperious Alex Sandro to compete with Morata to see who can perform the best circus clown routine.

Another crime statistic which never fails is when you ask Binucci to lead the line.

Vlahovic is not solving anything when he is potentially going to be surrounded by scrap metal, cheap plastic and used trash cans LOL.

We came to this ground a few weeks ago and never even had to break a sweat to win our game. Even Fiorentina put 4 past Salernitana.

Ask Uefa if you can forfeit the Champions League knockout round. Do not embarrass yourself any further.

Europa League conference is in your destiny ha ha ha. 🤣. 🤣. 🤣. 🤣. 🤣. 🤣

  3. In the preview article of this match, I wrote how Juve loanie Nicolo Faglioli has more Goals and Assists with Cremonese than 5 Juve midfielders. But was told Serie B is not the same (OK, true) and he is too young.

YET, today Juve played 18 year old Soule and 19 year old Kaio Jorge.

So what is it? Is he too young still or just too Italian?

Fagioli would take half the current Juve teams lunch money for fun but he is deemed not ready?

I’m not even lying when I write now that on the Preview article I was going to write to be wary of Mattia Amaru’s shots from distance, but didn’t bother. Well, what did we see for the Venezia goal? A Mattia Amaru shot from distance. Again, so easy to write this now after the match but if you have been watching Venezia this season, the man is not afraid to let rip. I even commented that he should be on Mancio’s radar if they don’t want to go the route of Joao Pedro. Of course it doesn’t help that Bonucci torqued his body out of the way so the shot got through. So laughable.

City, Liverpool, Chelsea are struggled this weekend seeing as they had a midweek game, but still came out with full points. ManU on their way with a 0-1 versus Norwich. All substandard performances but they still found a way.

Juve want a good team but they don’t want to pay for one. Always taking players for Freebies and sometimes they squeeze another year or two of good production. Dani Alves and especially got lucky that Mario Mandzukic had a few more years in him. Ronaldo another. Others they have missed badly on.

Instead of going out to grab Vlahovic that has made it abundantly clear he only wants Juve, they are sitting idly by wanting to get him for free. I do find it funny that other Italian clubs think they have a chance with him, my fear is actually him going to England.

Anyways, it’s their own fault. You have to spend money to make money. You can grab him for 70M, use him for 5 years and at the ripe old age of 26 in the year 2027 flip him to Newcastle for 200M. Not counting all the Revenue you will have made from more matches that you play in Europe.

  4. I don’t really blame Allegry, that’s the players he’s got! They all suck! Plain and simple! I can’t imagine what will happen in champion league! I don’t want to watch 🙈

  5. From the other message board about this match:

Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot, Rodrigo Bentancur, Arthur and Weston Mckennie combined this season: 5G/A

Juve loanee, Nicolò Fagioli this season: 6G/A for Cremonese.

When are we going to bring the kid home? Only Italian football would keep a guy buried in ‘B’ because he is 20 Years Old and is Italian.

  6. Uncle Z

Is Fiorentina‘s midfield any better? Aside from Riccardo Sottil, they are probably worse in creativity than we are. Where is Castrovili these days?

Vlahovic will help for the next decade. Especially when Rovella comes off loan next year.

Juve wants freebies. Instead of acting like a big boy and buying players in their prime. They can get lucky once in a while but it’s not sustainable.

Either that or they produce 22 world class players from their Academy which is impossible to do.

  7. Also, let’s be serious here. In September they fooled everyone when they said that Ronaldo left too late in the Transfer window and didn’t give enough time to find a replacement.

This was a good excuse at the time and it bought them some time to avoid responsibility. But the truth of the matter is, even if Ronaldo told them last year that he wasn’t returning, Juve wouldn’t have bought anybody.

They just don’t want to invest in the team. They want players but only free ones. Well, this is what you see.

We deserve this. It would actually be unfair for them to be getting Results with a substandard roster.

Nedved should know better as he was a player.

  8. Locatelli was another one.

They dragged this one on all summer. For a lousy 5M they could have got Loca in June instead of waiting until the week before the season.

All this considering Locatelli only wanted Juve and made this clear. They can get away with it with Italian players that know that playing for Juve is worth more than playing for Inter. Maybe Vlahovic as well as he has his heart set on Juve. But they won’t get away with it with foreign players.

If Juve want to be a big team they need to start acting like one.

  9. @Brandon, respectfully I disagree with you regarding Fiorentina part. In fact Fiorentina do have a better midfield as they have 8 more goals then us. The ball needs to get to Vlahovic. Do you think he is doing Maradona like runs all by himself? As for Castrovilli being on the bench, that makes it worse for us that they can even score more goals. When is the last time we scored 4-6 goals in a game. Last season Parma granted but I cannot find other matches. Look at the statistics. We had Ronaldo probably the greatest goal scorer in the modern era if not of all time. Imagine if we had a better midfield. He could have scored 40 goals a season. Better still why did we go for him in the first place. This is what drove Marotta out as the only adult looked at the figures and despite the shirt sales it was a flop. We did not come any closer to winning the Champions League did we. Moggi was the man as he reinvested that money into multiple areas. Marotta did that this season with Inter. We have never produced any good young players and our academy is literally non existent. Vlahovic for maybe 60m-70m makes zero sense. He is not even half as good as Haaland who was begging to come and for a low fee. Look at his worth today. Only 4-5 teams can afford him. Our focus needs to be on keeping Chiesa at all costs even if we lose top 4. Building a better midfield, selling De Ligt whilst he can generate huge profit, not extending with Dybala, send back Morata and bye bye Kean. Kaio needs the push. We need to buy a new GK, new defence and get some young Italian strikers. Enough with the foreigners with all due respect. We used to be Italian to the core. Players who understood what it means to wear the shirt and who will fight for it. Do not laugh but I would take Scamacca and Raspadori over Vlahovic. They are cheaper, Italian and we cannot let Inter take them. Remember Barella that is all I am saying. Also no to Pogba. He is too expensive and his time has gone. Forget about big money signings. We do not have the money and we will need to invest wiser.

  10. Ronaldo came at the wrong time. Because as you know, nothing wrong with the player.

Kean is only 21. I would not get rid of him at all. Doing so would be a mistake.

Dybala clearly should not be renewed. In agreement there.

But I would keep Dybala over Morata. Morata has to go.

No to Pogba either but would it really hurt?

Definitely would like to go for the Sassuolo duo.

I took some time off from watching Serie A but am back watching.

It even goes back to Joao Cancelo. 20 years ago you would have never dreamt that Juve would sell a world class talent for money and a lesser player in return (Danilo). To Manchester City of all teams? Unheard of.

But to be sellers to them, this is when I realized that things were changing.

Juve need to start acting like big boys again and stop crying poor.

  11. Yes, clearly Haaland was the biggest mistake.

We had 2 chances to get Gigio but said No both times. Once when he was 16 Years Old when Fabrizio Ravanelli told Juve to stop wasting time and to go get him. Then last summer when Raiola gave Gigio to us on a silver plate but Allegri said he prefers Schzney. Gotta be kidding me.

There will not be a 3rd time.

OK, let’s not get Vlahovic. But we will rue the day when Fiorentina sell him and he is playing for the next powers, Newcastle.

They aren’t going to let him come to Juve for free. They will sell him to a Qatari Club for 300M before that happens.

Agreed that Juve need to become more Italian again. The base of successful Juve and Milan teams have always been the best Italian players with the best stranieri. Sorry, but a Texan doesn’t improve Juventus. Maybe in the American style of football but not the world game.

They will not qualify to the next UCL next year and therefore will not attract the best foreign players. So they have no choice but to get Italian players which could be a blessing in disguise.

  12. @Brandon you do make very good points unlike that idiot ELTel aka Venables. I am concerned with this obsession people have for Vlahovic. Being great at Fiorentina might not be the same as playing for us. The shirt is much heavier. Also remember Bernardeschi and we paid 40m for him. We have made many mistakes over the last few years. From free transfers, high wages and paying too much for players out right. Chiesa is the exception but he is Italian, young and hungry. Let Vlahovic go to PL. He is not going to Newcastle as they will be relegated. It will still take them time just like the Chelsea project. Remember it took them time as well and they did not have to come from the second tier. Young, hungry and much more Italian is the way. Keep an eye on young Frattesi. Sadly I do not know what the hell our top brass is thinking these days.

  13. GV
We need to release Szczesny Morata Rabbiot Ramsay Bentancur Bonucci and Sandro.

Replace them with Donnarumma Rovella and Fagoli and De Winter and De Graca
Put game time into our youth its already a shit season so cut your losses and get the kids on the park

we need to be playing 433 or 4312 number 10 should be Soule or Dybala

midfield 3 -> Fagoli Locatelli Rovella
Kean Jorge up front rotating with Chiesa sometimes Morata.

Cuadrado and Pellegrini should remain as outside backs Rugani needs to be given more time Bonucci needs to be sent away, since the Euros he has become a bad egg. Chielini is fabulous but his body won’t let him perform he should have his playing contract torn up and swapped to a defensive coaching contract.

give them 2 years to improve.

  14. when i read the comment and youtube posters with pitchfork’s I though juv lost 10-0, i then saw the score and it was a mere 1-1

    On the upside
by end of dec – juv will be inside the top 4

Jan – juv gets a striker, a mf, and a GK and there’s your team mixed in with Italian talents like loca, chiesa, etc

you roll out the Italian James bond allegri and there we have the world is our oyster

… and plz enough with the nonsense – mckennie sticky fingers pouring secret sauces on pizzas, kean telling us how he hates his dad, glassy dybala private parties starting a union, bipolar morata chasing allegri down the pitch-this is not the great juv with all the great players of the past and even Lippi a WC winner, this is a rag tag of misfits bad news bears, rid of this riff raff and ban the fast foods while you’re at it
