Came and won everything in the air while also making several important clearances and saves, especially from a Hernanes’ blockbuster as Lazio” data-scaytid=”4″>Lazio pushed hard in the first half. Needed to be alert throughout, especially towards the end. Tremendous.
Fabrizio Cacciatore [Verona]
An all-round top performance adding just as much to the attack as to the defence. Worked well with the highly-impressive Juan Iturbe and opened up the scoring by coming in from the right and finishing with a superb left-footer. Assiduous.
Danilo [Udinese” data-scaytid=”9″>Udinese]
In the right place from a free-kick to strike home with a left-footed Exocet into the top of the net. Set his standards high from the off and a solid pillar in the middle of the defence throughout. Capacious.
Giorgio Chiellini [Juventus” data-scaytid=”14″>Juventus]
Kept the Milan forwards quiet and dominated, particularly in the air. Always looking to set up a counter-attack, he moved up for a set piece and was first to the rebound, shooting home into the bottom right hand corner. Gregarious.
Pablo Armero [Napoli]
Kept any attacks down his left to the minimum and such was his control that Livorno’s right side was like a rudderless ship. Enjoyed lots of possession and seemed completely at home in only his fourth start. Dangerous.
Kevin Strootman [Roma]
Whatever language the Dutchman communicates with in a multi-national team it works. He made the assist for a fabulous Alessandro Florenzi goal with a top quality pass after a dynamic run, which was typical of his performance throughout. Joyous.
Gokhan Inler [Napoli]
Purred away in the centre of the pitch, bossing the midfield and adding rhythm and attitude to Napoli. Scored the second goal with a long-range effort after a perfect delivery from Dries Mertens. Audacious.
Maximiliano Moralez [Atalanta” data-scaytid=”25″>Atalanta]
The Argentine may be the smallest player in Serie A but the ‘Little Flask’ has a massive heart, full of determination and movement. Scored the winner in a tough game with a lethal right-footer into the roof of the net. Adventurous.
Antonio Cassano [Parma]
'FantAntonio' scored his second goal of the season while assisting the other two. Playing with a smile on his face and mischief in his boots, he popped up everywhere, scoring after beating the ‘keeper in a one to one. Miraculous.
Goran Pandev [Napoli]
Played a non-stop game and was involved in everything good. Scored after just four minutes after great work from Dries Mertens. Had a massive hand in the second and it was his pass that set up the third. Fabulous.
Francesco Totti [Roma]
Two shots, two goals, too much. Controlling the action while rolling back the years, the captain scored his first with his trusty right foot from outside the box, his second and 300th via a coolly converted penalty. Incredulous.
