Lautaro Martinez will lead Inter‘s attack against Andrea Pinamonti’s Empoli today.

It kicks off at 17.45 UK time at the Stadio Meazza.

A win would allow Inter to overtake Milan on top of the table. Alessandro Bastoni is out of action injured and will be replaced by Federico Dimarco or Danilo D’Ambrosio. Either Edin Dzeko or Joaquin Correa will partner Lautaro in attack.

The Argentinean star has contributed to four goals in the last four league matches. Inter are unbeaten in 13 Serie A games against Empoli and have won the last eight matches in a row against the Tuscans.

No draws between these two teams at San Siro in Serie A (12 victories for Inter, one for Empoli). The Nerazzurri have a perfect record against newly promoted teams this season with five wins from five.

Petar Stojanovic and Valerio Verre suspended for Empoli. Nicolas Haas, Riccardo Marchizza and Lorenzo Tonelli are the long-term injured.

Inter loanee Andrea Pinamonti has already scored 12 goals this term (best season in his career) and has said that he wouldn’t celebrate if he scores against the Nerazzurri.

Empoli have never lost nine games in a row against the same opponent in Serie A and have the worst defensive record in the league since the start of the year with 31 goals conceded. Only Venezia have collected fewer points than the Tuscans since the beginning of 2022.
