Milan President Paolo Scaroni has asserted that ‘I’d miss San Siro too, but I miss a winning Rossoneri even more.’

Scaroni has already announced Milan’s intention to knock down San Siro and replace it with a new, 60,000-seater stadium, and the club chief made it clear his stance had not changed.

“I’d miss San Siro too, but I miss a winning Milan even more,” he told Il Sole 24.

“If we build the stadium on public land, it seems obvious to me that the structure remains in place.

“It’s not a problem for us, providing the council takes this into account when deciding the durationand terms of the concession.

“My objective is to give Milan the most beautiful stadium in the world, and there’s only one way: building a stadium from scratch.

“Restructuring is impractical for objective reasons: you can’t conduct pervasive work by playing every three days, while moving away from the city for three years seems unacceptable to me.

“Sharing with Inter [lets us] reduce costsand because the technology allows us to change the branding and colouring of the stadium easily.

“Instead, we have to spend 4m a year for these interventions right now. Milan and Inter, unlike other 'fellow' teams, have proven to be able to live together.

“I don’t see any problems
