Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali believes ‘many more’ clubs will be involved in the investigations into Juventus and confirmed the multiple offers for Davide Frattesi.

The Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office have been closely examining the Bianconeri’s financial behaviour and partnerships over the last few years, believing that some partnerships with other Italian clubs allowed them to falsify their capital gains through inflated player transfer values.

Sassuolo are one of a number of clubs to be involved in this investigation. The Neroverdi are preparing to sell Frattesi in the summer, ready to cash in on the Italian midfielder after his impressive development in Reggio-Emilia.

Speaking at Il Foglio Sportivo 2023 via TMW, Carnevali first discussed Sassuolo’s involvement in the investigations into Juventus.

“Well, many clubs have been involved and I think there will be many more. Today, when it comes to communication, football gives great visibility.

“The top management of RCS told me that they have sold more copies on this than on other major sporting events. We are calm, the important thing is to do things correctly.”

He was asked if the Neroverdi would be selling Frattesi in the summer.

“I hope not only him… He has offers in Italy, but also in the Premier League. He is a player with different characteristics to many others.”

Finally, Carnevali explained why Domenico Berardi has remained so loyal to Sassuolo over the years, declining multiple offers.

“He’s a champion and an extraordinary guy. So many times I read things about character: no, absolutely not. He has had various offers, he could have gone to Juventus, to Inter, even this summer he had another offer.

“He is a top player, but there has always been the right agreement with us. He always preferred to stay, and I see that as a positive thing. There are few loyal players left, he is our talisman and I see that as a positive thing.

“He can make the team grow, he is our leader and an absolute captain. Then, if he wants to take the chance to go to a big club, but it has to be a really big club, we’ll see.”
