These two sides have enjoyed completely different starts to the new Serie A season so far and these Sassuolo vs. Verona predictions suggest that it will be the visitors who continue their fine run of form.
1 – Verona to win – 3/1
2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – Evens
3 – Both teams not to score – 11/10
4 – Cyril Ngonge to score at any time – 3/1
5 – Verona to win to nil – 6/1
It is obviously still very early in the season to make any grand predictions, but Sassuolo could be in real trouble this year. Alessio Dionisi’s side have started the campaign with two defeats, have not scored any goals at all, and sit rock bottom of Serie A.
Domenico Berardi is pushing for a move to Juventus and, with Davide Frattesi already departed for Inter on loan, the Neroverdi could be in for a tough season. Now they face a Hellas Verona side that have won both of their opening two games and look confident for the first time in quite a while.
Sassuolo have had to face Atalanta and Napoli in the first two games of the season, so there is nothing to worry about quite yet. But Dionisi will know that he needs to get something out of home games like this – and he may come away from the Mapei Stadium on Friday disappointed once again.
Hellas Verona fans, on the other hand, must hardly be able to believe what is happening at the moment. The Gialloblu needed an extra playoff game just to escape relegation last season, after looking poor throughout the campaign. Now they could go top of the table with a win here.
Marco Baroni’s side followed up their opening day victory over Empoli with another win at home against Roma last weekend. Two goals on the counter were enough for Verona to take all three points in that second game and the players will feel as if they can record another win against Sassuolo.
The new arrivals have come into the starting XI seamlessly and have helped Verona begin the season so well. Another win could well be on the cards – and it could be Cyril Ngonge who fins the net on Friday.

Sassuolo (4-3-3): Consigli; Toljan, Erlić, Tressoldi, Vina; Matheus Henrique, Račić, Boloca; Bajrami, Pinamonti, Laurienté
Verona (3-4-2-1): Montipò; Magnani, Dawidowicz, Amione; Terraciano, Duda, Hongla, Doig; Ngonge, Folorunsho; Djurić
Alessio Dionisi is desperately trying to figure out a starting XI that can compete in Serie A this season, but is hampered by losing his best players at the same time. He will also be without Maxime Lopez for this one, after the French midfielder was sent off against Napoli. Uroš Račić should come in as a replacement.
Marco Baroni may want to keep his starting XI as similar as possible to the one that overcame Roma last weekend. He will be forced to replace the suspended Isak Hien though. Bruno Amione could come in at the back.
