This game comes less than a week before the Scudetto showdown with Juve.

“The next question I hear with the word Juventus in it will not get an answer,” warned Sarri at the very start of his Press conference.

“Carpi are one of the form teams in Serie A at the moment and are playing at a good level. If we don’t express ourselves the way we usually do, then we’ll be in serious trouble.

“I hope the minds of the players are focused on Carpi, as this is a more complicated test than the table would suggest.

“Jorginho is suspended, so Mirko Valdifiori will start. Some were rested on Wednesday and will return to the starting XI.

“I liked the way my lads approached Lazio, because they interpreted a situation they weren’t expecting. From tomorrow evening I’ll think about Juventus, but first we face enormous risks against Carpi.

“If we make the mistake of underestimating our opponents, or suffer psychological fatigue, then we won’t win. It’s a test of maturity and I hope the players realise that.

“We are still under construction and still have some dips that need to be overcome. We have experience now and learned we need to be more consistent throughout a match. If we are passive, we become vulnerable.

“Carpi are extremely dangerous and it’ll be fundamental to stay sharp for the entire 90 minutes.

“Hamsik looks like the best Gerrard recently. He has become the complete midfielder. He’s extraordinary and one of the most fundamental players for us.”

The 2-0 win over Lazio midweek was suspended for a few minutes due to racist chanting against Kalidou Koulibaly.

“He was a little upset after the game, but his teammates stayed close by and he has overcome it now. He’s relaxed and considering his characteristics I think he’ll play tomorrow.”

Sarri has brought a quality and entertainment factor to Napoli, so much that even Bayern Munich Coach Pep Guardiola commented on their campaign.

“At Empoli last year people came from Russia, England and Japan to view my training sessions. If it happens at Napoli, obviously it gets more publicity.

“I don’t know what Guardiola said, but I’m pleased if he mentioned Napoli at all.”
