Next Saturday they face Serie A leaders Napoli, so will the likes of Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro be rested to avoid picking up a ban?

“No, I won’t take that into account,” insisted the Coach in his Press conference. “The only doubt is regarding Bonucci.

“Tomorrow is a game where three points are just as important as in any other fixture and let’s not forget last time out Frosinone held us to a draw at home. They’ve done very well, above all on set plays.”

There are also injury concerns, as Mario Mandzukic, Sami Khedira, Patrice Evra and Kwadwo Asamoah are out, while the season is already over for Martin Caceres. Simone Zaza is suspended.

“We wish Martin all the best. He’s a big loss for us, both as a person and a player. Do I regret out January transfer strategy? No, because I couldn’t have known about Caceres. In any case, I have Daniele Rugani and Simone Padoin. I could even return to four at the back.

“In attack I have no choice, so Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata will start tomorrow. Stefano Sturaro has fully recovered, Asamoah will be back in a week, as will Khedira. It’s unlikely Mandzukic will recover in time for Napoli.”

Most questions were aimed towards the next test with Napoli and not Frosinone, something that irritated Allegri.

“After our 4-0 win at Chievo, there was a lot of euphoria outside the locker room. The game against Genoa brought us with our feet back on the ground.

“Let’s not forget last season we had a spell with many 1-0 victories. There are moments in a season when you play very well, others when you win so-called ugly. Those victories will increase your chances of winning the Scudetto.”

There are yet more reports that Allegri has been offered €10m per season to take over at Chelsea next term.

“My future? Everything has its time. I am happy here today, I have a contract with Juventus and I intend to remain here for the future of the side.”
