Maurizio Sarri, Marco Giampaolo and Antonio Conte have emerged as candidates to replace Luciano Spalletti on the Inter bench next season.

It’s widely reported the Coach will not remain at San Siro after crashing out of the Coppa Italia, Champions League, Europa League and putting a top four Serie A finish at risk.

According to the Corriere della Sera, the club is not prepared to sack Spalletti before the end of the campaign, even if they lose the Derby della Madonnina to rivals Milan on Sunday evening.

According to the Corriere della Sera, the club is not prepared to sack Spalletti before the end of the campaign, even if they lose the Derby della Madonnina to rivals Milan on Sunday evening.

Former Juventus, Italy and Chelsea boss Conte remains the favourite, especially as it was current Inter director Beppe Marotta who first hired him at Juventus.

Other options suggested by the Corriere della Sera include current Chelsea tactician Sarri, who has also been linked with Roma, and Sampdoria boss Giampaolo.

Both Sarri and Giampaolo have a similar tactical approach based on possession and short, attractive passing games.

The biggest criticism aimed at Spalletti is not so much the lack of results as the poor performances even when Inter did win matches.
