Alexis Sanchez described how it felt to score the winner in the Supercoppa Italiana final against Juventus and he looked ahead to tomorrow’s match against Roma.

The 33-year-old Chilean forward has featured semi-consistently under Simone Inzaghi this season, mostly coming off the bench to make an impact late in a match. This was exactly the role he filled in the Supercoppa Italiana final, coming on as a substitute in the 75th minute to replace Lautaro Martinez.

This proved to be a good decision from Inzaghi as he scored the winner in the last seconds of the match.

Looking back at this goal, Sanchez described the scene and his emotions after the ball went into the back of the net.

“We won the Scudetto last season and the Supercoppa Italiana this year. Scoring that goal against Juventus was great, everyone was happy, my teammates and the fans.

“It was like a film, when I scored I didn’t think the game was over, then I looked at the bench and my teammates coming towards me to tell me we had won and it was incredible.”

He then touched on the Nerazzurri’s remaining games of the season, starting with tomorrow’s clash against Roma.

“We’re on the right track and we have to continue like this. We have to stay focused to play our best in all the remaining games, we have talented and experienced players and we need everyone.”

The 33-year-old Sanchez has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions this season.
