Genoa goalkeeper Ionut Radu has asserted that new boy Antonio Sanabria is ‘no worse’ than predecessor Krzysztof Piatek.

Sanabria was brought in as a replacement for Piatek, who joined Milan after just half-a-season with Genoa, and has already scored twice on his return to Serie A.

“He’s a great player and he has great technique,” Radu, an Inter youth graduate, told Sky Sport Italia.

“In my opinion he can help us a lot. We must now adapt because Piatek was also very good but now we have Sanabria, who’s no worse than him.

The former Real Betis and Roma striker, meanwhile, told Gazzetta dello Sport: “I’m very happy to be at Genoa.

“My new teammates have already made me feel like another one of them. Prandelli has also helped me a lot.

“I played and scored goals and I had a good relationship with everyone at Betis, but the atmosphere was no longer ideal.

“Therefore, when the possibility of returning to Italy arose, I didn’t hesitate for a moment.

“Four years ago, when I first went to Italy, I neither spoke nor understood the language.

“Now I can stick up for myself in Italian and everything is easier.”
