Sampdoria have postponed their friendly with Dynamo Dresden so that coach Dejan Stankovic and assistant manager Nenad Sakic can attend Sinisa Mihajlovic’s funeral.

The Blucerchiati are currently in Turkey on a warm weather training camp during the break for the 2022 World Cup and are playing a series of friendly matches.

There was meant to be one against Dynamo Dresden, but that has been put back to Tuesday December 20.

It is so that coach Stankovic and assistant manager Sakic can attend the funeral of former Sampdoria player and coach Mihajlovic in Rome on Monday.

After tomorrow morning’s training session, both Stankovic and Sakic will travel from Antalya to Istanbul and then fly to Rome.

Stankovic was teammates with Mihajlovic at Lazio, Inter and for Serbia.

Sakic started his career working as assistant manager to Mihajlovic for the Serbia national team and at Milan.

He joined Stankovic’s staff at Red Star Belgrade and followed him to Sampdoria in October.
