Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout has been given a three-match ban, while Sampdoria are fined €20,000 for anti-Neapolitan chants.

The Disciplinary Commission announced its verdicts today ahead of the final round of the Serie A season.

Sampdoria are fined €20,000 and given a warning after the referee found repeated anti-Neapolitan chants of ‘territorial discrimination’ so offensive that he stopped play for several minutes.

The fine was reduced because President Massimo Ferrero ran on to the pitch and urged his own fans to stop, but was himself insulted with rude gestures.

Roma were fined €5,000 for insulting chants towards a Juventus director and for throwing fireworks, Crotone fined €3,000 for throwing plastic bottles on to the pitch and Lazio €2,000 for the same gesture.

Fiorentina midfielder Veretout has been given a three-match ban for his red card offence, a two-footed lunge during the home defeat to Cagliari, as he had already been on a warning for amassed yellow cards.

The following players are suspended for one game: Rafael Toloi (Atalanta), Riccardo Montolivo (Milan), Radja Nainggolan (Roma), Valon Behrami (Udinese), Fabio Borini (Milan), Thiago Cionek (SPAL), Everton Luiz (SPAL), Filip Helander (Bologna), Andrea Masiello (Atalanta), Bartosz Salamon (SPAL).
