Ex Milan and Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi admits the Rossoneri are not the best team in Italy, but they can still win the Scudetto with the ‘right commitment and work ethic.’

The Rossoneri are the Serie A table leaders with a two-point lead over Inter and Napoli. The Nerazzurri have a game in hand but missed a chance to leapfrog their city rivals last weekend by losing 2-0 against Sassuolo at the Stadio Meazza.

The Rossoneri also missed a chance to increase the gap with their rivals over the weekend, by picking a 2-2 draw away at Salernitana.

Sacchi discussed the Scudetto race in his column on La Gazzetta dello Sport, explaining how his ex-club can win the first Tricolore in more than ten years.

“The race is exciting and involves Inter, Milan and Napoli. The Rossoneri have proved that they can lose against anyone if they don’t play as a team, even against last-placed Salernitana,” wrote Sacchi.

“Pioli’s team is not the best one in Italy, but play good football. However, if they don’t work as a united group where everyone helps each other, they’ll go nowhere.

“The Rossoneri turned the engine off in Salerno. They often ask me: ‘Can Milan win the title?’ Yes, provided that they find the right commitment and work ethic. They can hide their experience and technical limits only by playing good football.”
