Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was not happy with his players during their Champions League clash against Villarreal and Alessandro Del Piero noticed a familiar gesture of the Italian tactician towards the end of the game.

The Serie A giants picked up a 1-1 draw in Spain in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 last night. Dusan Vlahovic’s opener after less than a minute was cancelled out by a Dani Parejo goal in the second half. Allegri seemed disappointed by his players’ performance and could not hide his feelings.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Allegri was so furious with his lads that took his jacket off, throwing it on the floor in the final minutes of the game. His gesture was also spotted by Alessandro Del Piero, who was at La Ceramica to comment on the match as a pundit.

Allegri had exactly the same reaction almost seven years ago. It was December 2015 and Juventus risked not winning against newly-promoted side Carpi. Allegri shouted to his players and threw his jacket on the floor, one of his most iconic gestures during his first five-year spell at the club. That time, the Old Lady managed to snatch an away 3-2 win.

  1. If Alegri is not happy with players, maybe… dont play them! Rabiot has been awful for years. Play Zakaria or Arthur instead. Morata missing all his chances– try Soule or Kean. Why persist with players who keep failing?

  2. I’ve yelled at my TV (Allegri) and thrown my couch pillows at least 50 times this year watching how this coach can ruin any sort of offensive momentum.

Send him and Rabiot anywhere for a good case of wine.

  3. Had Rabiot done his defensive duties then Parejo doesn’t score. Makes me wonder that Allegri lives and breaths defense defense defense and Rabiot cannot do that correctly, what is he doing in the starting line up week in week out? But then again trying to defend a lead from the 1st minute of the game then mistakes can and will be made, why not set the team up to get a second goal and kill the game. What goes on in Allegri’s head only Allegri will know.

  4. Rabiot is playing because the decision to sell him has been made. By cutting him out of the team completely, you will be lowering that little bit of value that he has even further. So, maybe its just a marketing decision. From a footballing stand,I agree that he need to be left on a planet on his own and never let off!!!

So Juve can potentially miss out on the money they get from qualifying to the next round, they can also miss out on the top 4 and miss the whole CL next season. Just so they can raise his price tag a bit?

    Does not make sense.

He is playing and has been always playing for a long time because of Allegri’s convictions.
