Roma are waiting to find out if Jose Mourinho’s two-match ban will still be upheld as the FIGC scrutinise the work of fourth official Marco Serra.

The Portuguese coach was shown a red card in the early stages of the second half in the Giallorossi’s 2-1 loss to Cremonese after a verbal altercation with Serra, who told Mourinho to ‘mind his f*cking business’ after he questioned a missed foul.

Serra’s attitude infuriated Mourinho and his staff and led to the Roma coach’s red card, which led to a two-match suspension. Roma appealed this and the FIGC Federal Prosecutor’s Office has been investigating the incident.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma expect a response regarding Mourinho’s appeal today, hoping to have the ‘Special One’ available for their blockbuster clash with Juventus on Sunday evening.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has found some elements of provocation from Serra against the Giallorossi coach and if Mourinho is ultimately absolved, the fourth official’s season could already be over.
